Do you have a love of plants and flowers? A flair for design? Our New Zealand Certificate in Floristry (Level 3) is a stepping stone to a colourful career and will allow you to develop your artistic hobby.
Learn how to design and create different styles of floral arrangements suitable for all types of occasions and events in this comprehensive and fun course!
We will give you practical, hands-on training and the opportunity for valuable work experience in the exciting floristry industry.
You will learn about the elements and principles of design including form, texture, colour and space and how to apply them within floral design.
Practical floristry skills
We will teach you how to identify plants commonly used by florists in the industry. You will also learn how to create floristry designs using hand-tied, base medium, and wiring techniques, and how to wrap, pack and protect your floral designs in order to enhance their presentation.
Customer and retail skills
This module includes pricing and costing of floristry products and services, identifying customer needs, learning to identify possible problems and how to deal with them, and how to take orders for floristry stock face-to-face, over the phone and by email.
A minimum of one weeks work experience is built into the programme to give you real-world experience in the floristry industry.

Entry for this course is open for domestic students. Applicants should have completed NCEA Level 2 (Year 12 or 6th Form) as a guideline.
