You’ll learn how to use software applications (Microsoft), all about how to manage databases, the ins and outs of spreadsheets and you’ll improve your professional and business writing skills.
Academy New Zealand provides a supportive face-to-face environment with passionate and friendly tutors who will even help you get a work placement.
You will gain foundation level knowledge and skills in the areas used on a regular basis in administration roles including basic financial data entry, mail collection and logging, and visitor record administration and management.
Information and Communication
This module will teach you how to use a computer and other technology to complete tasks such as arranging travel bookings, rental vehicles and other business services. You will also learn how to create documents using business templates (e.g. meeting minutes) and invoices.
In this module you will learn how to use software to store, display and manage information. Using data, you will be shown how to create graphs, charts, queries and filters to breakdown client information into specific categories.
You will learn how to produce business documents with a number of software applications including Microsoft Powerpoint (presentations), Microsoft Publisher (promotional materials), and Microsoft Word (formal letters).
20 weeks including 2 weeks of holiday.
This course is offered at our Hamilton and Christchurch campuses.
Entry for this course is open for domestic students. Applicants should have completed NCEA Level 2 (Year 12 or 6th Form) as a guideline.
